does anyone know if there are solar storms/flares today?
my cable signal is usually clear. all day today it has been breaking up. this has happened before with solar storms/flares but the cable provider gave us forewarning. does anyone know if there are stronger than normal solar flares today? i tried calling them but was on hold for a long time. i also tried to check nasa's website but it was not loading very well.

As far as I know the Sun at this moment is very inactive. There has been little sunspot activity or solar flares for a good few months now. People were expecting the sun to become more active not decrease its activity.
Not too sure what you mean by Cable, do you get your TV signals through wires under the ground? That is what cable here in England means, however we have Satellite TV and we receive pictures form our satellite Receiver. Most often we get bad reception during rain, clouds etc. Check nothing is obstructing your Satellites view.

Nope, nothing exciting going on right now. There is a 1% chance of major flare activity in the next in the next 24-48 hours and the chance of a geomagnetic storm is less than 10%.
