reducing MB of picture?

Question

I have an photo on my computer that is 2.6 MB. I need to reduce it down to 1 MB or smaller. I need to do so because the specialized auction site I am posting it on will not accept anything bigger for an image. Any Ideas? Thanks.

You need to either resize the image manually using the common Paint programs from Windows Accessories (a more time consuming method since it requires some trials to make sure the size is under 1 MB), or use specialty program like Corel or Photoshop which have Resize Image options.
In Photoshop, the resize image option also gives your the file size.

Microsoft provides an unofficial image resizer tool for free for Windows XP and Vista.  When installed, you just right-click the picture, and choose Resize Pictures.
