Any suggestions for a wedding toast?

Why not ramble about childhood memories? It's actually one of my favorite parts of the receptions...as long as it's not super long. Choose one memory, preferably something that has to do with love and relationships - maybe the two of you used to dress up in your mom's wedding dress or as teenagers you talked about what you wanted in a marriage and that she had found that.

Or talk about when you met the groom and how you know they are right for each other. Share a story about how she babbled on about how great he was when they were first dating, something to make her blush a bit and to make the guests see their affections for each other.

It is a speech to the bride and groom but it is also your chance to say how much you adore the bride, how much you love your friendship, and how happy you are for her so say whatever you feel. It may even be that you write a whole speech and change your mind when you're handed the microphone.

I'd have to say something that would annoy the whole audience like: This is a toast to all the people who envy me! A toast to all the free food my guests are diving in! A toast for all the dollar store presents we received! A toast for all the people who invited themselves w/ out any invitation! A toast; for there is a donation box in the corner for everyone to pay for there own meal and help pay for this party; for nothing is free! A shot for everyone!

The end! Who the hell needs some corny appreciation speech to show a bunch of tears?
