Christians, Jesus brought a new testament from God. What did Jesus say about homosexuality?

Let's go by what Jesus said and obey His words. What were Jesus words about it?

Update:

Jesus had two commands:

Love the Lord, your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, with all of your mind, and with all of your strength.

and

Love your neighbor as yourself.

So, if you believe Jesus wanted homosexuals to go to hell, He would be in violation of his second command. If YOU want homosexuals to go to hell, then you are in violation of His second command. You make a place for yourself in hell for not obeying Jesus' law. Worse, you will be there with Fred Phelps. It won't be an easy eternity.

Jesus preached love and forgiveness. If your religion does not, perhaps it is time to change it back to the way Jesus would want it.

A very good question to make his heartless followers think.

  • Jesus was born under the law. Jesus kept the law. Jesus taught others to keep the law. Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom, which is the same gospel that had been preached. The only thing Jesus said that the religious leaders did not agree with, was that He was the Messias. In other words, Jesus taught the same thing as what was in the OT.

The new gospel that was given by the RISEN Christ was given to the apostle Paul, and is written in his epistles. Paul calls homosexuals "those that defile themselves with mankind".

    Defile. Anything else?

it relatively is extra useful to have self belief in Jesus and help homosexuality than to no longer have self belief in Him in any respect. on the grounds that Jesus is God and the Bible is the stimulated observe of God, the completed Bible is what Jesus stands for. The Bible does point out that the act of homosexuality is a sin despite if it additionally mentions that each and every person sin is an identical in God's eyes. i'm a Christian and that i've got observed that the blunders that many Christians make is overemphasizing homosexuality and making it look like it is worse than different sins whilst it is relatively no worse than mendacity on your mommy. there are lots of people who've gay predispositions and that may no longer a sin. If somebody has a predisposition to be an alcoholic yet does not drink or basically beverages sparsely than that may no longer a sin. Having a gay predisposition isn't a sin and that i've got considered that God does do away with this choose for many people who've this predisposition. The Bible does say that gay acts are incorrect yet i've got self belief that many Christians are too condemning and that they don't understand that Jesus might have advised them that in the event that they are with out sin than they are able to throw the 1st stone. God in no way needed us to sentence human beings yet particularly to love them of their sin because of fact all of us sin too. God does not prefer us to choose gays and lesbians yet particularly comprehend them for who they are and enable God artwork on their hearts purely like he's working on our hearts.

I wanted to at first answer with a smart alec remark but decided to answer your question in truth. Jesus taught that by obeying his Father we would some day live forever with the. Jesus taught there was a place for the wicked to spend eternity and those who obeyed him and his Father would spend eternity with them. He condemned all forms of immorality as sin with eternal punishment. It is true that he preached love but he just as quickly preached punishment and against all sins and Homosexuality would have been one of those sins he condemned as that is what he taught his disciples to do and they did that along with fornication, adultery, drunkenness, murder lieing stealing sexual perversion.....Christ gave us the Choices for Eternity and we choose which way we will go..

    Gee. This is a toughy.

Let's see- He said that unless people repent of their sins, they would perish; He also (through Paul) also once again reiterated that a man lying with a man was an abomination before God, so my guess is He put it all under one umbrella when He said that "Unless a man be born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God", and I find it hard to believe that the same God who said that a man lying with another man as with a woman was in His eyes an abomination, would contradict Himself and let homosexuals who die in that sin be welcomed with open arms into the kingdom when their time comes.

That Word says that it is an abomination. It is sin. It is the works of the flesh. It is completely against God period.

God also says that is not the person that He hates but the sin that ones does. But God loves all of us no matter what. Remember God hates sin, sin is the action knowing to do right and yet doing wrong. This is sin.

I've always thought that if God hated homosexuals as much as some people say He does, then God would have put it in the 10 commandments...he could have easily switched Honor your parents or don't covet your neighbor's wife but he didn't. I don't think God forgot either.

this was Jesus' words about it...

"do not think i come to destroy the law....."

so by what Jesus said the law is still in place, and if the law says homosexuality is a sin (which it does) then it is still a sin, and Jesus would object to it.

just like he never talked about murdering people but that doesn't mean it isn't a sin any more.

Jesus did not compile long lists of specific sins and had little reason to do so, especially within a society where his Torah-believing audience already knew from early childhood what sins Jesus was talking about when he made reference to general categories of sins (such as his mention of sexual immorality).

Of course, when Jesus spoke of sexual sin, he had no reason to single out a particular act, such as bestiality. So by that logic, should we conclude that Jesus disagreed with the Torah (which would have angered his audience and led to a riot!) and was not opposed to bestiality?

Your argument is both old and lame. Shall we assume that because Jesus didn't say, "Now when I refer to sexual sins, I'm specifically NOT including the sexual sins described in the Torah (which include crimes punishable by death such as homosexual acts.)", that means he was fine with those sexual acts condemned by Torah Law? Of course, seeing how he didn't condemn the sin of pedophilia, perhaps we should conclude that he was fine with that also.

Yes, arguments from "silence" (ok, not really silence in this case) are so convincing!

Of course, you are also assuming a myth that is believed by many but not shared by most Christians: that statements in other portions of the Bible are somehow inferior to the statements of Jesus. So attempts at picking-and-choosing in search of an argument from silence fall flat and nobody is convinced by them.

Attempts at misusing the Bible for particular personal agendas rarely lead to logical results because the people who resort to them are usually ignorant of the most basic facts about the Bible. So such "arguments" actually tend to reinforce the views of more knowledgeable people who become convinced that proponents of such agendas are in no position to convince them of anything.

The arguments used for preaching to your own choir (who share the same lack of knowledge) rarely do much to convince those of opposite views. For proof, just skim through the answers which will be posted to your question. Other than the usual high-fives from the Bible-illiterate, what will it accomplish?

i do not know that it has been recorded that he specifically said anything about homosexuality. Nor did he say anything about pedophilia - it is still wrong. His major message was love God and love each other - I don not think he meant we should all have sex with everyone though.

Jesus came to fulfill not to destroy the law or the Prophets. By implication, He supports the laws regarding same-sex sex. Besides, Jesus is God.
