Why is it that we have to be stimulated in order to awake to our innermost wanting?
I mean, we tend to be dull and lazy without exterior input. But sometimes mere words, a poem for instance, suffice to wake us up.
Why is that? Why are we prone to be oblivious about our own wishes?

Internal motivation is quite difficult. Maybe we don't believe in our own positive thoughts or unique qualities. We often feel someone out there knows better than us and always look up to someone to push us further or keep us inspired. That someone might very well be looking at us for inspiration!

most pple don't know coz they aren't really interested in finding more about themselves or they fight who they really are. those things which stimulate such realisation strip away all those things which keep us from seeing our true selves. thus we wake up.
