Should I replace my Wipers now or wait?

I just bought a used car a couple of weeks ago, everything on it is great except it was raining ever so slightly this morning and I realized the wipers need replacing. Here's the thing, I live in So Cal, and it's the beginning of summer, really not to much rain in the near future. But still, I like to have everything in top condition for safety reasons (you never know what might happen tomorrow).

What I'm worried about is if I go spend $40 on wipers now, when I don't really need them, will the summer heat and sun just destroy them and I'll have to replace them again in the winter? I rain-xed a couple of weeks ago, so I do have that working for me.

if you don't have them replaced and the blades come off they will ruin your windshield in the car so i wouldn't wait,i go through about two sets every year, its part of the regular maintenance on a vehicle to replace them when needed, good luck.

Same car, similiar situation. When I run my a/c, especially during my daily afternoon stop and go commute, I try and leave off or turn down the a/c for 5 minute intervals. That keeps the temp halfway. I also add fuel injector cleaner to every other full tank of gas, and/or before roadtrips; that helps that sluggish feeling to me anyway. When I first got my car, it always overheated, but after I replaced the fan and installed a new radiator (myself), I've since only found a fluke or two due to burned out fuses. Hope I could help! Good luck!

Rain ex is good stuff until you wash your car a couple of times. Try asking the auto parts clerk for a blade refill that fits your existing assembly instead of the whole wiper. should be much cheaper.

I would just wait until winter if I were you. Because with rain-x, i rarely turn on my wipers anyways, so if you think you can last by just using rain-x, wait to buy good winter wipers becuase thats when you really need good wipers. :D

I would replace them. It is a safety issue, I mean it may not rain, but if it does, you need to be able to see. I replace my blades every spring and every fall.

Nah, I'd wait and save the 40 bucks now.

Save it for a "rainy day" so when you do need your wipers to wipe properly you can apply it towards the thousands potentially spent in hospital bills, collision repair and the like.......

Spend the $40 now. It's like insurance, only matters when you need it. And you never know when.

Wow, that's a big decision. I don't know what I would do. I'm glad I don't have this problem. I think If I had to decide though, I'd bite the bullet and buy wipers. Oh man...I'm SHAKING!
