Since their only claim to existence is through theoretical inference, I am inclined to say that they are not real. It used to be when you found observations that contradicted a theory, you would try to create another theory, not a postulate a physical entity whose sole purpose is to make a theory right. Would Planck have come up with a blackbody curve if it was believed the ultraviolet catastrophe was caused by "dark radiation"?
There is more than enough evidence in our own galaxy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_Way#Velocity http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_anomoly to suggest that gravity is stronger over larger distances than our theories predict. Or, if science is your religion: our galaxy is full of dark matter. But I have yet to see any useful models employing dark matter mechanics . . .

Dark energy is real but there's a new theory about dark matter. The way it came to be defied as "dark matter" and it's questionable.

You posted this in the wrong section.
Regardless of that... I have a feeling that the dark matter/ energy we currently can sense is matter/energy in a cross section of a higher dimension. Basically we can interact with some of its properties, but not the properties of the whole.

Actually, they HAVE NOT been discovered yet, but at one point gravity, X-rays and ultra-violet light were dark matter/energy, now we know what they are and they're not "dark" anymore. So probably, our tiny, flawed, but wonderful brains can only perceive so much.
I think Dark matter/.energy is really popular with sci-nuts a conspiracy theorists.

dark rely is only mass that's not doing something that motives it to glow. I easily have no concern believing in such issues as chilly dirt. I see no clarification why the all the mass in the universe must be in the style of issues that glow so that that's going to see them on our telescopes. I actually have a greater durable concern with dark skill, and that i'm quite hoping that somebody definitely effectively revises regularly occurring relativity to guard it. i think of it would be quite interesting to stay by using one in each and every of those considerable revolution in physics. undergo in suggestions that GR is an fairly useful concept, so the subsequent concept would nevertheless make all the comparable predictions that GR does in places the place that's been useful (as GR does with Newtonian mechanics). the hot concept, on each and every occasion it seems which will % out limits on the area of applicability of GR.

Yes, both dark energy and dark matter have been proven to exist. There's no "thinking" about it.

Excuse me... you mean African-American matter and African-American energy, right? I think it is well enough time for everyone to agree to leave offensive and derogatory terms behind.

Yeah....
It's somewhere......."out there"!>>>>>
And I wasn't being funny, I was being serious. It really is somewhere out there.
