Is cache memory slower than hard disk memory?

No, cache memory is generally very fast comparatively speaking.

Cache memory (and it should be noted this is NOT RAM) is the fastest type of memory you have ... only thing is most motherboards only have sparing amounts of it (mainly because it is very expensive compared to other memory alternatives). While on the other end of the scale, generally speaking hard disk memory (usually called swap files or swaps) are the slowest, and the usual way to use swaps is to use it as a last resort (some OS' give you the option to restrict or cut back the swap size and usage.

No, Cache memory is very faster in compare to any other memory. It is basically attached with CPU to reduce the overload on the CPU. More the cache memory, faster will me MULTI-TASKING in the computer but it is also much expensive in compare to any other memory.
Best of Luck

Cache Memory (essentially RAM) runs very quickly with very high bandwidth, typical access speeds of <10ms.
Hard Disk Drives(HDD) require more effort, and access time is usualy 25-250ms, with a much lower transfer bandwidth. However Solid-State Drives(SSD) are practically the same as RAM
A middle ground would be a USB Drive Device which use flash memory. (typically 20-50ms with high bandwidth)

You probably have alot of spyware since you download lots of music files. Especially if you Download from Kazaa. That will give you tons of adware/spyware on your computer. Remember that whenever you download, make sure to check the file size. If its a really small file size, its usally a virus/addware program. (these are the files that say its a certain song, but when you open it, it doesnt open or some other advertisement comes up.) Its really hard to get rid of these. I suggest upgrading to windows Vista. If something trys to run on its own, vista asks your permission first which is really great because you can stop that spyware from running and bogging down your PC

Definitely not!
As the microprocessor processes data, it looks first in the cache memory and if it finds the data there (from a previous reading of data), it does not have to do the more time-consuming reading of data from larger memory.
Have a great day!

cache is much faster
a cache is where things get stored when the computer wants to have fast access to it
it is a type of RAM, that is optimized in size, as too much of it would make it go slow (more ram needs more addresess for each byte) and needs to be big enough to store information
