Is there a good XML schema standard for resumes and CV's?
I keep coming up with http://xmlresume.sourceforge.net/ as the only real possibility, but there has been no activity there since 2004.
Is there a standard people are using, or does nobody really care about this? Seriously, I would think a standard markup language for resumes would be a big advantage.
There's also LaTeX, of course, but I don't think that's a good fit for my particular situation.

Why would you want that? I've never dealt with a company that accepts anything like that as their accepted format for resumes. I really cannot see a market for it.
Why do you believe there would be an advantage to using a markup language.
P.S. posting resume's on websites are not a great idea. You want to tailor your cover letter and resume to the job you are applying to gain their interest. A standard "one size fits all" resume doesn't help.

Does anyone here know if there is any company that is working to commercialize the concept of standardized resumes stored in XML format? It seems to me that anyone who manages a web service that gets people to regard it as their core resume repository (much as Facebook is your core "friend" repository) would be one of the Internet's major success stories; rather than having just advertising as their business model, they could charge subscriptions and/or data delivery fees to recruiting firms for obtaining current, accurate resume information instantly. Like Facebook most of the value of the company would come from its user community. Does anyone know anything about this?

hResume is a microformat for publishing résumé or Curriculum Vitae (CV) information [1] using (X)HTML on web pages. Like many other microformats, hResume uses CSS class names to make an otherwise non-semantic XHTML document more meaningful. A document containing resume information could be improved to use hResume without altering the appearance to the browser, making it easy to adopt.
