1.) Walt Frazier & Earl "The Pearl" Monroe (Go!Knicks, it is a shamockery, like LBJ23 put it for Isiah Thomas to completely disrespect 2 of the greatest PG's in NBA history by saying a Marbury/Francis duo can be a mirror image of Frazier/Monroe.)

2.) Isiah Thomas & Joe Dumars

3.) Jerry West & Gail Goodrich

4.) K.C. & Sam Jones

5.) Ron Harper & Michael Jordan

1. Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe: The "RollsRoyce" backcourt! Each a HOF'er and not only were great together, but they also had their "own" teams they dominated on.

2. Jerry West and Gail Goodrich: Highest PPG backcourt ever (1871-72). both HOF'ers. One Championship together

3. Magic Johnson and Byron Scott: the height of showtime...2 championships together (84'85, 86-87, 87-88)

4. I. Thomas and Joe Dumars: 2 Championships together

5. Bill Sharman and Bob Cousy: both HOF'ers and 4 championships together and one finals that the Celtics lost (57-58 to the Pettit led Hawks)

Jordan was great but Pippen was a forward...not a guard.

I'd list them as:

2. Earvin 'Magic' Johnson & James Worthy - when Worthy arrived showtime was born.

3. Walt Frazier & Earl Monroe - in the Knicks best years in the NBA both guards was able to pull stable performances, the backcourt propelled the Knicks to the second of their 2 championships so far.

4. Isaiah Thomas & Joe Dumars - while both players could really turn it on on the clutch, I always put Joe D. a notch higher simply because he applies outstanding and honest defense.

5. Jerry West and Elgin Baylor - while this two never quite achieved a championship together, this is probably the most explosive backcourt tandem to date, as both players can reach 50 points at any given time.

Pippen and Worthy are both awesome. Two of my all time favorite players. But, neither is a guard.
