Does it bother any Christians that our "AMEN" comes from the Egyptian god's name amon?

And that your religion has borrowed much from pagan religions. Your bible said Jesus was born when the lambs were being born (spring-time) yet Jesus has the god Mithras' birthday of December 25 and was born of a virgin just like Mithras. You know the Egyptian sun religion is a pack of lies and Mithras' religion is a pack of lies. Why do you think your religious leaders (who take money to build giant churches and who molest little boys) are the ones telling the truth?

Here's what bothers me: The word "AMEN", in both English and Greek, is a transliteration from the Hebrew 'amen. The meaning is "so be it," or "surely". The Hebrew root word from which it is drawn (aman) means "be faithful; be trustworthy."

The word AMON is a name shared by several. For one, it is the name of a local god of Thebes, or No-Amon, who rose to the position of "king of the gods" under the name Amon-Ra and whose high priest became head of all the Egyptian priesthoods. Amon is generally represented as a man wearing a crown surmounted by two tall parallel plumes. Like many of the other Egyptian deities, he is frequently shown holding the crux ansata, the "sign of life." Amon, his wife Mut, and Khonsu (his adopted son) made up the Theban triad. The name Amon also applies to a chief of the city of Samaria when Ahab, king of Israel, was ruling. Also, it is the name of a king of Judah (661-660 B.C.E.); the name of a family head of certain returned exiles included among "the sons of the servants of solomon." Jesus was born in the fall of the year and not during winter as certain so-called Christian religions proclaim. It is snowy in winter in Bethlehem. The shepherds would not have been out of doors tending their sheep if that were the case. No one knows the date of Jesus' birth as it is not mentioned in the Bible. The date of Dec. 25 was borrowed from pagan religion who's sun god was worshipped on Dec. 25th. Easter is borrowed from the pagan fertility goddess Astarte as well as the pagan symbol of the rabbit and egg. Only those wanting to worship the father in spirit and TRUTH (John 4:24) will refrain from interjecting pagan ideas and symbols into their worship. Others who hold on to such ideas and symbols in their so-called "Christian" religion will suffer the consequences when God judges them. Regarding the giant churches, many of them are sitting still right now for lack of donations to finish them. This was prophesied to happen in the book of Revelation. Their sins have massed clear up to heaven and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. (Rev. 18:5)

The word "Amen" is Hebrew for "so be it". It just happens that the English spelling of the word looks somewhat close to the English spelling of the name Amon. (Only off by 25% - so not really that close.)

Nowhere in the Bible does it says that Jesus was born when "the lambs were being born". It says that the shepherds had their flocks out in a field overnight. Probably because the stable owners were making money by renting space out to the travelers who were overflowing the city. mary and Joseph were probably not the only people who could not find a hotel room.

The date of Jesus' birthday is not known, and no serious Christian theologians has ever claimed that it was December 25th. Rather history tells us that the celebration of the Christ Mass developed at that time to offer Christians an alternative to celebrating the pagan Roman feast at that time. (Oh, it was not a celebration of Mithra, who was a Babylonian god, not a Roman god.) It did not "evolve from" but was a replacement for a pagan ritual.

Where do you get this "information"? Amen is an actual word in Hebrew that has nothing to do with the Egyptian god's name. Don't even start on Mithras! What bothers Christians is falling over all these people who don't know beans about history or ancient religions getting sucked in by some ridiculous so-called documentary or basement websites.

Think of the phrase God as a identify. A CEO would not like for her identify for use calmly. God is a curse phrase in so much western civilizations. I say bloody in America and nobody thinks two times however I say it in entrance of any person from England and I have stated an highly dangerous curse phrase. No offense supposed to these over the pond. You're speaking latest language and goal of a middle. If I say Oh God and I'm relatively speaking to Him considering I wish that bus not to ram my auto then I'm golden. If I'm ticked and say the equal then I'm making use of it emptily (vainly) to not entreat Him and no longer for His functions. This has not anything to do with how English will have to be used consistent with Hebrew conference. It's use is situational and no longer open to interpretation besides to people who do not see the noticeable. I'm no longer insulting you, it may be amusing to do intellectual gymnastics however I have a difficult time believing this can be a specific query.

Could you name the scripture that says he was born in lambing season?

So in the scripture Aleph Mem Nun is always a Reference to an Egyptian God? You can't be Truly serious can you? And you don't think serious believers know what you just stated?

My goodness but your ignorance... er intelligence is showing.. We are so Impressed.

No serious Christian believes nor observes Dec 25th as Yeshua's birthday either. Sure the masses who just pray and pay might but really Luke 1 in conjunction with 1 Chronicles 24 Shows when John the Baptist and Yeshua would have been born... oh but wait.. You'd have to have the skill of critical thinking to be able to piece it together...

    Never mind.

Go back to your toys little boy.

    .

The word Amen (Hebrew: אָמֵן, Standard Amen Tiberian ’Amen ; Arabic: آمين‎, ’Āmīn ; "So be it; truly" is a declaration of affirmation found in the Hebrew Bible and New Testament. Its use in Judaism dates back to its earliest texts. It has been generally adopted in Christian worship as a concluding word for prayers and hymns. In Islam, it is the standard ending to Dua (supplication). Common English translations of the word amen include: "Verily", "Truly", "So be it", and "Let it be." It can also be used colloquially to express strong agreement, as in, for instance, amen to that.

The Vatican CHOSE Dec 25 as the day to commemorate Jesus birth !

Mithras is copied from God's true religion !

The Vatican is Satan's agency on earth and lies to the RCC.

May God bless you as you study His Word

Most words used today have been derived from such roots but that is HARDLY the only root of the word. For example:

    2. verily; truly.

–noun 3. an utterance of the interjection “amen.”

    4. a musical setting for such an utterance.

    5. an expression of concurrence or assent: The committee gave its amen to the proposal.

    Origin:

bef. 1000; ME, OE < LL < Gk < Heb āmēn certainty, certainly

–noun Egyptian Mythology. a primeval deity worshiped esp. at Thebes, the personification of air or breath represented as either a ram or a goose (later identified with Amen-Ra)

    a·men (ā-měn', ä-měn')

interj. Used at the end of a prayer or a statement to express assent or approval.

Paul , who started the organized Christian religion was a soldier in the Roman army, and as such was exposed to the Mithra religion so he mixed it with what he thought were Jesus words. But that does not mean that Jesus the "mystic" man never lived. His true words were found in the desert of Egypt in 1945 at Nag Hammadi, and these are the gospels of Thomas. How can I make such a claim! Well I experienced a Mystic experience of the message of Love, and in 15 seconds it changed my life and took me to the Thomas gospels, I was guided to putting it in a web site, try it , it might help you.

This question has opened a small can of worms. I've never looked up the word amen, but I've always thought of it as a shorted version of "[for] all men".

Humans have been practicing one form of religion or another for 10's of thousands of years. Each new religion took a little from what came before. There is no reason that Christianity should be any different.
