Has anyone noticed more women smoke than men?
I recently stopped smoking (a month behind me now) and I have noticed since stopping (and following people who do smoke to breathe in their fumes!!) that so many more women appear to smoke than men? Has anyone else noticed this? Do more women smoke than men?
Really interesting to hear your opinions. I smoked for 33 years (I am now 44) and smoked because when I was young, everyone around me smoked, it was the thing to do. As I got older it wasn't about weight, it was purely an addiction. It has been a hard slog this last month - but an addiction I will never go back to - however much my body craves it. Thanks for your answers and support and those who said about it being smelly, I never realised until I stopped how bad that is! :)

i believe more women smoke(cigarretes) more than men, i also believe more men smoke marijuana than women.

Yeah someone said that to me the other day that they think more women smoke than men and i noticed it too. I dont know why though :S

I've noticed researchers from the 70's smoke more then anyone I know. Men and Woman.

Yeah i have noticed that. I think also that more women smoke in public than men do, which is probably why it seems like more woman smoke

to tell u the truth i dont really no. but i think most women do smoke more than men. my mom smokes and so does all of her friends. just from looking at people around me and when i drive by i see alot more women smoking than men. but i dont no if that is excctly true or not but i think it is.

Well everyones should just stop. But its a free country, so they can do it if they want.

Yes.
Less men smoke because men are more self consious about keeping fit and healthy.
More women smoke because they think smoking makes you thinner but it just puts you off your appetite. So women think if it makes you thinner, then great

Yes, strangely. I think men tend to be more social smokers (in my experience) whereas women will smoke when they get stressed (yet again in my experience).

Yes, they often smoke instead of eating.
Look at the smokers outside of places of work & it is usually females in the majority.
I can only conclude that it is considered better to die of emphysema/ cancer than to be a healthily built adult female.

Congratulations!!! a lot more women smoke because it's supposed to keep them thinner than if they stopped.
