what are the things required to record music at home pc?

Cheapest ($5-$50 USD), Terrible Quality: Buy a computer mic and use it with the regular mic input, this can be a headset mic or a desk mic. This will be terrible quality as these mics are only designed to get the users words over the internet to someone else but can be good enough for extremely amateur goofing around.

Very Cheap ($20-$80 USD), Very Bad Quality: A microphone with a 1/8" jack or a 1/4" jack with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter added to it. Plug in through your mic jack. Use windows sound recorder (Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder). You can also download for free a program called Audacity (search for it on your favorite search engine and you should find it easily). Great program, especially if you want to do any advanced editing or layering of tracks.

Cheap ($50-$120 USD), Bad Quality: Buy a good microphone like an SM58. Get an adapter cable that goes from the XLR on the mic to 1/4" and use an adapter to 1/8" or a cable that goes from XLR to 1/8" (I have never seen one of the latter) and do the same as above.

Medium Price ($20-$200 USD), Medium Quality: You can buy a USB microphone, they vary in quality which tends to be largely based on price. The cheaper, the worse. A few examples are listed under sources where it says cheap.

Pricey ($200-$400 USD when all is said and done), Good to Great Quality: Definitely what you want if you are looking to put yourself out there as a singer or if you want to start a band or anything. Buy an input box, several different models and price ranges. In the sources section below are some of the cheaper ones. I have not used any of these exact models but all should be good. Again, you need to buy a microphone, preferably something like an SM-58 or some mic that is said to be comparable. This is the option that I recomend unless you simply cannot afford it or just want to goof around.

As to where to buy, I really don't know how to tell you. First off, I don't know what shipping to Bangalore is like or if there are local stores that would have this type of thing at a better price right there in Bangalore. Once you find the item you like, either shop around locally trying to find it, or do a google search for the item and you should be able to find the cheapest price. Keep in mind, it is always a good idea to buy from a reputable company even if you pay slightly more as you will definitely get the item one way or another. Good luck.

the point being you live in a 3rd world country i suggest shop online unless there are some pretty good electronic stores near you

a very good pc is good for audio recording

Hi buy a basic voice chat mic that costs you Rs. 100 and connect it.

Download FL STUDIO 3.1(google it for free download) try to compose some tracks and also download soundcard drivers through google. Its a damn cheap process and you get normal quality of recording without noise.

Well, I know what you mean, and no, there are no encryptions on a live feed. The DVD recorder I bought was a CyberHome model that cost $89 and works like a charm too! They DO however prevent you from copying encrypted commercial DVDs by just hooking it up to another player.

You required a Mic with the sound card driver. The headphone mic can also be used for the same purpose. After installation of Mic go to control panel select sound device and manage the settings.
