Is it true that Ireland havent won the 6 nations for 61 years? Congrats my fellow celts!!!!?

It was so close and my heart was in my mouth until the very end but it was an awsome match from start to finish,it was certainly your year!!!

I am curious though about one thing,we(wales) didnt win the 6 nations for 20 odd years until 4 years ago and Ireland havent won for 61 years(so I'm told) so basically the English and French teams have been winning the six nations all through the last 2 decades? Cant recall Scotland winning either. Please excuse my igorance if I am wrong.

    we havent had a win since 1948...so 61 years...

    Wales played absolutely amazingly though...it was such a close game..

    Its great to see the sportsmanship (O'Gara wearing the Welsh jersey....)

    I love that rugby is such a noble game. Wales welcomed us with open arms and you can bet that even though there'll be big disappointment on your side, the Irish AND Welsh are gonna' be a having a good time over in Cardiff tonight!

    Ive met (briefly!) two guys on the irish team and they are so down to earth and nice its ridiculous.

    So happy they got there though, they deserved it so much....xD

    With regards to your question, English and French have generally won the majority of championships. We didn't win the Grand Slam for 61 years but we won the title 25 years ago. Scotland won it a few times as well.

    Yeah, well done Ireland!

    Even though we lost, I did get a bit of a lump in my throat watching the Irish team getting their medals and cup. They just looked to happy and proud.

    And O'Gara in the Welsh shirt. Lucky shirt ;-)

    But it's the Grand Slam they haven't won in 61 years, not the Six Nations.

    No - you are wrong. We have won the 5 Nations before - BUT we hadn't won a Grand Slam (ie beating all the other sides in one season) since 1948. We've also won 4 triple crowns since 2001.

    Ireland haven't won grand slam for 61 yrs-that means beating every other nation.

    All my family were there...it was amazing!!!!

    Yes its true!!! oh my god that was the most draining match i have ever seen!!! O'gara's drop goal was the stuff of dreams!!! I am soooo proud to be Irish:D.Hard luck to wales,but in all fairness they didnt deserve to win it.We got the trys and we deserved to win.

    Screw the recession!!!Theres good times for Ireland yet!!!!
