I am a christian, yet I love Gothic stuff. I mean, the themes, colors; styles; etc.?

parents sometimes tend to be overprotective and are just looking out for your best interests.

i'm also a christian and i think it is absolutely okay with liking gothic themed things. i don't really know what to say on how to handle this situation, because my parents are fine if i shop at hot topic for example. but, they also tell my things like not to get piercings or tattoos and such... but i never would want one anyways.

You should explain to them that a theme is noting more than colors and shapes. A yellow background and a dark gray background are the same exact thing, the only difference between them is the color, and that doesn't change anything. I mean, what if your colorblind?

The point is, just because you prefer the look of something doesn't mean that your thoughts are changed. Gothic themed items have that form of stereotype along with them. Its just something they are gonna have to accept

ok actually gothic is a type of religion...nothing to do with satan so you're out of the clear on those terms lol but its ok bc really basically... people just like it bc of the "theme" or what have you...it's ok to like something like that and be a christian....it's just the way people portray gothic in these days...just be yourself :)
