Baby Kangaroo with diarrhea?
Got a little Joey since last week, today she suffered diarrhea anyone any suggestions what to feed her to make it stop. Already contacted WIRES but they didn't reply yet. She's little, about 1.5kg. Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
We found it's mum as a road kill and the little Joey was still alive in her pouch. I know you are not allowed to have them as a pet as long as you are not a licensed wildlife carer. That's why I contacted WIRES.

If WIRES hasnt replied keep trying them! Or take the Joey to your nearest vet! They have a list of carers in which they can hand it to!
When Joeys have diarrhea it can be VERY serious! Diarrhea can kill them as they get very dehydrated. Please seek URGENT help from a vet as you arent experienced enough to be dealing with this.
Is often stress related and can occur as a result of over-feeding, change in formulae, diet, poor feeding routine, chilling or overheating, poor hygiene, improper handling and infection. It is important to –
Remove the joey from all stressful situations and maintain a good level of hygiene and cleanliness;
Check that you are not overfeeding or increasing the amount of formulae too quickly –
Talk to an experienced carer about common remedies
Ensure the joey does not become dehydrated by providing fluids with electrolytes, as required;
Contact a veterinarian NOW.. if the joey is showing any other symptoms such as refusing their bottle, glazed eyes, listlessness, dehydration or signs of pain.
I do hope you have her on a special formula for joey's and not cows milk (cows milk kills them). At that weight she needs at least 5 bottles at day.
If you really care about this animal..forget WIRES and go to the vet. Vets do not charge people for wildlife drop offs.
If you are not experience diarrhea can be the least of your problems.
