Aquariums Natural vs Colourful?
Do you prefer your aquariums to have more of a natural look or a colourful, funky look? I'm going to get a larger aquarium, but I'm not sure how I should decorate it.
I know the focus should be on my fish, most definitely, but I'm not sure what style of aquarium to go with. I'm just curious to see what other people think.

Natural all the way. Think about it. What do you want to draw the eye? Well the fish of course. if you make it look like it was a lake, river or stream then you fish not only will be happier but their colors will prove it. Mix 3 diff sizes and natural colors of gravel, add driftwood and definitely lots of live plants. You'll be amazed...

A natural aquarium is colorful. I prefer to have a planted aquarium with natural substrate. The focus should be on the fish, not your decorations.
I only have one incredible gaudy five gallon aquarium for a bright yellow Betta- I used black gravel and hot pink plants. It's actually a divided ten gallon and the Betta on the other side got a natural aquarium. So it's easy for me to compare the two, and I do think the natural look is preferable.
~For my twenty gallon aquarium I used Flourite as my substrate, and decorated with slate as hides (secured with aquarium sealant), and driftwood. For plants I attached a couple java ferns to my driftwood, and planted crypts, microswords, and an amazon sword in the substrate.

A 'colorful' aquarium will become, overtime, a bland ugly aquarium. Most of the colors used on gravel and decorations wear off or dissolve leaving with grey colorless lumps. Same with decorations.
I recommend Natural, colors stay the same and it looks just as beautiful as anything funky you can imagine. If you're not satisfied with what you can get 'naturally' you can help it along. Using aquarium safe epoxy, you can make your own decorations, there are many DIY aquarium decoration websites. :)

my preference is natural. not only does natural look great if done correctly, it is good for the fish. there is an exception for me: if i am trying to match a room or a theme. for example if you have a red room i may get substrate and fish matching those colors. often natural and colorful can be the same thing. my favourite tanks are heavily planted with moss and driftwood and some coolfish that goes good in that enviroment. to me those tanks are still bright and vibrant while beind au natural. so in conclusion i would say its all a perspective and an opinion on what is natural and colorful

well, really in the end, your style and preference will prevail. I personally go for the more natural look. I research the types of fish I have and then replicate what it would be like in their natural environment.
Fish won't really care about what kind of color the stones are, but will care if their needs are not met. For example, I have cichlids in my tank and they need a lot of rocks, crevices and caves.

I believe invisible pink, hard work is what you're making of it. while i strengthen into pregnant with my daughter i presumed hard work strengthen into no vast deal, and actual by no ability particularly gave it plenty theory. Then while my water broke and that i did flow into hard work, I had the comparable approach and did no longer experience something. I have been given an epidural, in basic terms in case the actual delivery have been given uncomfortable by way of fact i wanted to be smiling while my infant got here, no longer crying in soreness. the finished hard work and delivery strengthen into in basic terms somewhat cake by way of fact I had the astonishing approach. in case you do no longer think of you may shop an excellent approach and not get scare with regard to the soreness, evaluate an epidural. that's risk-free for the two you and the infant, my daughter by no ability had any risky area effects from it. contained in the tip it is your selection, decide on what's top for you and your new child.

it's what floats your boat....and just because you went one way, doesn't mean you can't go the other later on.
I have a tank of curious pea puffers that requires me to totally change the tank design every 3 months to keep them happy.
I prefer natural...
neon pink, green and blue colors don't do much for me.

natural to make the fish feel at home so they can hide behind plants and stuff 0_0
