why is the 5 crossed out and replaced with a 1 in the following changing of percent to a fraction?

80% of $1,735 is written out as 4/5 X $1,735.  the answer book has changed the 4/5 to 4/1 (X $1,735.)  Why?  other problems on the page did not change the fraction (ie: 1/3 X 8,913)  Is there a website that can answer or tutor in these type of questions!

Sounds like a glitch 4/5 is definitely 80% - 4/1 is not really a fraction.
The fact that you can realise there is a problem is an education in itself. Shakes your confidence in what else you are being told though, doesn't it?

if u times 4/5 by 5/1 it is 20/5 which when simplified is 4/1

There is no reason, unless they also changed the 1735 to 347 [1735 Ã· 5] so it must be a misprint.
