Who is currently the best head coach in the NFL and why?

hard not to say belichick..11-5 wins with a nobody QB..and he put on some serious numbers.

If you are still waiting for the "correct answer", then you are biased and already have your own opinion. I see no point in answering your question because our opinions do not matter. You already have your own answer. Why ask with a closed mind? If your answer has not appeared yet, it is likely that many do not agree with you.

Edit: I apologize for my blunt nature. I wanted to answer the question, but felt it was not a question where the asker would keep an open mind to opinions. It seemed it was asked just t see how many people would come up with your answer.

For me it's a tie between Belichick and Tomlin.

Mike Tomlin i think he's a great coach how many guys could come in after Bill Cowher and do what he's done

As much as I dislike the guy, Belichick is one of two active coaches who have won a Superbowl (until after 2/1/09). His regular playoff apperances and 10+ win seasons put him above Coughlin.
