Was there anything positive about George W. Bush's dictatorship?

Update:

I see that some of you give the anti-Bush answers many thumbs down. Are there so many frustrated Republicans on Yahoo Answers?

There was no dictatorship. If there was, Bush would still be in command. You really should think before you start typing.

"Was there anything positive about George W. Bush's dictatorship?" Although there was no dictatorship, Yes, there are many positive aspects to the Bush Presidency. I won't enumerate them for you, you have already made up your mind.

    Have fun with your messiah.

His presidency was a failed one as far as issues pertaining to the american people go. 9/11 happened under his watch, then he declared war on another country under false pretenses (something he admitted himself) and failed to pay attention to the growing economic problems we are facing. As a matter of fact many of the issues we are facing today could be partly attributed to some of his policies which greatly reduced regulations for large corporations and companies. He was not able to handle the katrina incident in new orleans either (so i don't see how these republicans could say that he "kept us safe") and his policies have greatly reduced America's standing in the world. The only good thing he really did was giving aid to poor african countries but other than that i can't really think of much else (well he was kinda funny to watch and listen to)

27 million human beings were liberated from a horrible familiy of dictators who literally thought of nothing to throw healthy innocent child into a lion's cage for lunch.

I will always be proud of that legacy.

My only regret was that he lacked the political capital necessary to stand up to the recklessness of congress who pressured banks into giving home loans to those incapable of paying for it such that a meltdown eventually occurred.

Finally, the people of Africa love Bush for doing more for them then any previous President has ever done.

    George Bush should be immortalized!

Now excuse me while I "brainificate" over which Obama worship services I should attend.

He did some good things in Africa, combating Aids and other diseases. That's pretty much the best thing he did in his tenure until yesterday.

I don't think it's fair to call it a dictatorship, if for no other reason than because he left peacefully, to the great relief of the nation.

  • vor 1 Jahrzehnt

It wasn't a dictatorship for one and there were positives that came from his administration. But since you are a hate filled zealot, it would be a waste of time to list anything...

Our nation has been safe from anymore suicide attacks, the horror of partial-birth-abortion was stopped, rapid responce to aid survivors and families after Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Decimated the ranks of the Taliban and Alqaeda terrorist groups. Rapid response to aid states that were decimated by major storms. He did a lot of good things and perhaps many mistakes, time to move on.

  • vor 1 Jahrzehnt

Absolutely. The fact that he kept this nation safe following 9-11. You remember that, don't you? It was the terrorist attack that could have been avoided if Clinton was concentrating more on capturing a known terrorist than catching a Lewinsky.

His dog Barney bit a reporter, his twins are cute, and his wife once spoke out about how the Taliban abuses women... that's about all I can think of.
