A question for the Australian gardener.?
l have a really nice lawn ......except for Para Grass (urochloa mutica)
lt is a long stemmed weed (about 10 inches tall) with lots of seeds which fall and spread.Over a period of time l have been digging these out, making sure l get the root....but they just keep spreading.
l have been to a few different nurseries, but they for some reason have not been able to recommend a permanent cure.
Hoping some wise gardener can help me out here.
Thanking you.

American gardener here, but maybe I can help since no one else has. I used to live in the southern hemisphere anyway.
I would use the herbicide whose scientific name is glyphosate. Here we call it Roundup, it may be sold in Australia too. But do not spray it on the weed; you will kill the lawn too. Put on disposable plastic gloves first, then put on cheap cloth gloves over them. Dip your double-gloved hand in the diluted glyphosate and then carefully run this gloved hand up the weed stem from bottom to top without dripping any herbicide on your lawn. Throw away the cheap cloth glove and the plastic disposable under-glove too.
Some weeds will not die, but will only decline, and they will take another try 7 to 10 days later for a good solid kill down to the roots.
Next spray your whole lawn with a weed preventer herbicide that is listed on the bag as effective for your type of grass. This will keep seeds of this Para Grass weed from sprouting, and will also control other weed seeds that may blow onto your property.
