What kind of “critter” is this?
This “critter” was found it in lightly wooded area in the central part if the Island of Mindanao, Philippines, near an area called Aglayan.
At first glance, it looks somewhat like a large millipede or centipede, however it only has 6 legs.
(Perhaps some type of large wireworm or false wireworm?)
It is about 5 inches long (between 12-13cm).
The exoskeleton is hard on top softer on the underside.
It has 13 body segments.
Has only 6 legs.
Its top is dark almost black in color.
The underside is a light brown with dark patches in the center of each body segment.
Pictures are located at the bottom of the following page:

My thought is that it is some type of wireworm. Wireworm being a larvae stage the question would be what does it develop into? (If it is even a type wireworm, which it might not be.)
Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks for the response tunkah.
From what I just looked up online I agree it probably is some type of mealworm.
But assuming what I found is correct the kingmeal worm only grows to about 2.5 inches (unless it has been given growth hormones, apparent a common practice by suppliers). This one was almost twice as large. So I am guessing that it is probably not the same.
Though it is probably in the same genus of Zophobas and it is probably is some type of large beetle larvae.
Hopefully someone will know exactly what type of beetle it becomes before the question expires.
But regardless at least now I have a direction to start looking.
I should probably explain why we are interested in knowing exactly what this thing is. I am currently located in a heavy agricultural area of the Philippines.
As many people probably already know some types of beetles and their larvae are helpful and actually help control other types of insects as well as some being fond of eating weeds rather than the crop plant. (Helpful “critters” that we would want to encourage/help populate the area).
However on the down side there are many types that are devastating to crops if they get a foothold in the area. And we would want to stop it/ keep it from becoming too prevalent.
Thus the reason we are looking for exactly what this thing is.
Once we know exactly what it is, then we will know the best thing to do with it.
Or if we even need to worry about it.

Looks like a King Meal worm.We feed them out to many different animals at the zoo.
Note: Your welcome (jerrys9), I guess the best thing to due is to let it pupate and see what type of beetle it turns into, that would allow you to identify it easier, unless someone is able to identify it on here. Yes some of the King Mealworms we receive at the zoo are larger then 2 1/2 inches long, that is interesting about the growth hormone.
