Bible Survey #4 (for Christians only)?

Genesis 4

001: And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

002: And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

003: And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

004: And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

005: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

006: And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

007: If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

008: And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

009: And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

010: And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

011: And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

012: When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

013: And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

014: Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

015: And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

016: And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

017: And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

018: And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.

019: And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

020: And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.

021: And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

022: And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

023: And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

024: If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

025: And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

026: And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

Question: What does Genesis 4:7 mean?

Update:

What I find weird is, some non-Christians criticize Christians for not being questioning enough of their faith. I definitely dont like answers coming from non-Christian who dont know anything about what Im asking -_-#

Update 2:

Oh, and if you ever see me ask a single question for a whole set of Biblical chapter, that means you can comment on any of the chapter.

God is offering Cain a second chance. Basically what is said is Cain your brother has offered the acceptable offering, he has more in his flock, get a sin offering from Abel and you will be accepted also. Be obedient to Me, Cain. Do the right thing. Don't let your pride master you. God Bless

    Gen.4:7

    7. If you do well, shall you not be accepted?

(If you bring the correct sacrifice, and thereby place your faith)

and if you do not well, sin

    (a Sin-Offering)

    lies at the door.

(a lamb was at the door of the Tabernacle)

And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

(the Lord promised Cain dominion over the Earth of that day, if he would only offer up, and place his trust in, the right sacrifice; He promises the same presently to all who trust Christ [Mat.5:5])

007: If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.

If Cain had done what God had asked, then God would have accepted his offering. If Cain continued to resist God, then Cain would be vulnerable and prone to sin.

I now go to study the hebrew....

EDIT: (continued from my last comments) But God would want Cain to have mastery or control over his sin.

God reminded Cain that if he had obeyed God and offered the animal sacrifices God had required, his sacrifices would have been acceptable. It wasn't personal preference on God's part, or disdain for Cains vocation, or the quality of his produce that caused God to reject his sacrifice.

God told Cain that if he chose not to obey His commands, ever-present sin, crouched and waiting to pounce like a lion, would fulfill it's desire to overpower him.

Cain was just like his father, a tiller of the ground, That is what the serpent was to be , a helper for Adam. But since this upright creature decieved Eve. Then Cain was conceived, therefore Cain can only take after his father the serpent..... Abel was a son of Adam & he knew it took a blood sacrifice to please God & not Vegetables & fruits to please God , so if Cain had brought the right sacrifice, then God would have accepted him also.

The backyard of eden is a geographic territory interior the middle east, & God never solid mankind out of those limitations, He merely lifted his glory remote from mankind. Now in case you pass to Rev. 22:a million-3 you spot a organic river of water of existence proceeding out of the throne of God. The non secular worldwide right this moment can no longer enable you already know desire those 2 trees became into in that became into interior the midst of the backyard of eden, They weren't literal trees, because of the fact ALL trees have been stable for nutrition, yet those 2 trees have been 2 rules of duplicate.

Cain had a decision to make. He could choose to please God and be blessed, or to sin and be cursed. Sin was crouching at the door waiting for him to open it.

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live."

he just saying, that if you dont do well, (ie talking about sin) why should i accept you. why should i accept you and praise you if you have done wrong??and those that try not to (because we all have already) sin, will rule over those that do when the time comes. now this was before christ, so having forgivness was alot harder. now all we have to to if recognise christ.

i think thats what it means. thats how i enterprite it. why should we except forgivness etc if we continue and continue to willing and conciouslt do wrong.

When things are written so they have to be reread again and again, to make any kind of sense then beware. Like someone wanting my money to invest, and I get a piece of paper that is as easy to read as 4:7, life isn't that complicated.

firstly do not ask man what it means,it is for you to read and take in what you can understand, the point is even when bad is all around you and you still refuse to be bad your self then you are half way there,

im not a book person but i know good from bad,it is all a example in life to give insight in to your own

there is only 1 and we all think he is ours when we are all his harm or hurt and you harm or hurt his
