Is Clorox safe to use as a household cleaner?

Mixing it with water makes it safer. Make sure you only use it in a well ventilated place, and make sure never to mix it with other cleaners. (Even putting it on a surface that previously had some ammonia based cleaner on it, can result in toxic fumes) A solution of Clorox and water is great to sanitize counters, but make sure to rinse it really, really well before prepping food there. It's definitely harsh on the skin, harmful to the eyes, and poisonous, so you have to use caution. Don't use it around kids. But it is a very useful cleaner.

Yes, obviously there are safer options but if thats whats in your cleaning cupboard and you are dying to clean here are some tips... Open the window! Even if it's chilly, you need the ventalation, I make sure to close the door so the smells dont get all over the house If the smell is very bad or if you just want to make sure not to do any damage, tie a hankie around your nose and mouth. You will feel a bit silly, but you will feel less guilty after. Make sure you get the less toxic cleaners next time you are out. I don't know if they say safe or unsafe for pregnant women but, if they have warnings about breathing them for too long or say "use in a well ventilated area" I'd steer clear. There are definitely sites that will list the cleaners that are safe in pregnancy. But as I live in the Uk right now, I cannot google them for you lol Just type in "what household cleaning products are safe for use in pregnancy" (I am assuming by the brand names you are in USA, as I'm american and know those all too well lol)

In a water mix it is okay, small percentage of clorox and never mix with other chemicals or cleaners.

white vinegar would be safer. less toxic and you don't have to worry about bleach spots. baking soda makes a good scrub and not toxic like most cleansers.

clorox is okay if diluted or you can pour a cup in the toilets and each sink once a month to avoid the plumber.

Bleach is a very good sanitizer. As a cleaner, it would depend on what it is you are cleaning. Bleach does not have any abrasive, so it is not a good scrubber. Vinegar and baking soda are good cleaners. Do not mix bleach and ammonia together, as they create chlorine gas or worse.

i never changed any cleaning routines or products in my first or this pregnancy. my son was perfect and still is never gets ill. just because your pregnant doesn't mean you have to change your routines. you need to relax and enjoy your pregnancy more no need to wrap yourself up in cotton wool! if the products say on the back harm full in pregnancy then get something else! i even cleaned my entire house whilst in the early stage of labour with my son as i wanted him to come home to a clean tidy house. its good exercise aswell.

I work in a Daycare and bleach is what we use to sanitize toys, counter tops, everything. As long as it is 1:10 (bleach:water). If its safe enough for daycares (small children) it should safe enough for adults.

I use it everyday in my house, that and hot water. I feel it is the best cleaning product ever, it kills any kind of germs that may be crawling around in the house and it gives a nice clean smell, I think so anyway.
