Simple plug converters are safe in the Middle East?

Im leaving to Egypt in a couple of days and Im thinking about bringing my plug-converters to charge my multimedia player (Archos 604 WIFI). I know that the Voltage in Egypt&Jordan is 220, but I’m wondering if it will be safe to charge my equipment since what I have is only the plastic converter that allows me to place it in the socket and then connect the equipment, so there is no voltage or frequency converter…. how do I know if it is safe to connect my player to this adapter?

THANKS!

You don't say what country you live in, or, more specifically, what voltage your equipment is designed to work from.

If it is from 220 - 240V then you may plug your equipment in quite safely.

If, however, it is designed to work from 110 - 120V then you can not plug it in. You would need a 220 to 110V transformer.

Or you may, of course, have equipment which is designed to run from any voltage between 90 to 240, in which case further comment from me would be redundant.

The supply frequency in both Egypt and Jordan is 50Hz.

If your supply is 60Hz, the difference willl not matter unless you have something such as a record turntable or other device which relies on a synchronous motor.
