help me on my project...! how do i build a animal and cell model...{this is due 10/31/08}?

Bake a flat cake, frost it and use different ypes of candy to mimic organelles. The cake presents the cell, the pan reprents cell membrane, frosting represent cytoplasm, candy of variois types represent organelles.

This is easy, Ok so the first step is to blow up a balloon not too big though. Then with PVA glue take pieces of toilet paper and put it on your balloon. Brush a little bit of PVA glue onto the toilet paper thats on your balloon. Do this until the whole balloon is covered. Then repeat for the second layer. After your done hang the balloon by its tail upside down. Let it dry for 24-36 hours. After the balloon is fully dried, take a pin and pop the balloon. After that take a knife and carefully cut the dry shape of the balloon in half. So now you have the perfect shape of a cell. now all you need is some decorations. Try being creative and use for example pasta for your mitochondrion. Or you could use fuzzy wire for the smooth endoplasmic reticulum. Just be creative and ur diorama will look very nice. Good luck

oh by the way PVA glue is white glue mixed with water if u didint know.

Doing this method will be much funner and it will be way more realistic cause it will look exactly like a cell.

Well a couple years a go our class had to make animal cell models.

What we did is we took a paper plate. Used a puff ball thing as the Nucelous and glued that to the paper plate.

then we used green yarn as the Cell Membrane, and glued that around the edge of the paper plate.

For the cytoplasm, we used yarn and used it to cover the whole paper plate (different color yarn than the cell membrane)

For the vacuole, we used some different beeds.

For the mitochondrion, we took a big eraser and cut it up and stuck it too the plate.

We did a very basic animal cell model, which was asked for.

But just you regular arts and craft pieces and use that.

We got a 99 on the project (we lost one point because we mispelled mitochondrion while labeling, tehe!)
