Was light night Bernard Hopkins' finest hour as a fighter?

I would have to say yes and you saw the emotion on his face after the fight. He was on the verge on breaking down and crying because he's such a great fighter and felt that he never got the proper respect or credit from the boxing media and public. He beat a 26 year old unbeaten wrecking ball who many people were predicting would not only beat him, but be the first man to stop him, and he proved them all so wrong by completely dominating his younger foe at the age of 43. I was so happy for Hopkins that I was almost moved to tears myself after seeing him stare at the media and almost breaking down. Maybe now he'll get the respect he deserves as an all-time great champion. I mean, when you think about it, this guy has never really been beaten convincingly in his career. All of his losses with the possible exception of Roy Jones could be highly disputed and really could've gone either way. And even his loss to Roy was very close. I just hope now that people realize what a special fighter this man truly is.

You of all people should know that what Bernard did last night was nothing more than him beating a smaller opponent that neither had the will or the power to hurt him at 170. Bernard is trying to cement his legacy by calling out and fighting smaller fighters, Trinidad, De La Hoya and now Pavlik. Where's the intestinal Fortitude there? What great thing has he accomplished by beating smaller men? You don't hear Bernard calling out someone bigger than can punch do you? So what he beat a guy almost half his age. Look at the opponent that's great marketing not a Great Champion.

Without question. One seriously has to start looking at him now as one of the greatest fighters of all time, not merely a hall of famer, which he unquestionably is.
You're talking about a man that set a record 21 defenses at 160, a feat that probably will stand for decades, if not for all time, then moved up a division after turning forty, decisively beat two hall of famers in Tarver and Wright, lost a highly disputed decision to another hall of famer, Joe Calzhage, and then, at the age of 43, took a young, feared and unbeaten power puncher to school.
My opinion? Why should he retire at all? We may not have seen his finest hour yet.

I have always said Bernard Hopkins was a top 5 all time great middleweight, and I must admit I was surprised Bhop had enough left to beat Pavlik. I think the Tarver fight was up there but this one was bigger.

Bernard said it was.... I mean Bernard has taken out some of the BEST in the biz. But, it was DAMN impressive for a 43 year old man BREAK DOWN a 26 year old undefeated lion for TWELVE ROUNDS!

He said so himself, i'm not sure if it was his biggest achievement in the ring, but he certainly made the biggest point of his career. So yes, i would personally say it was his finest hour.

I truly feel it was. I was watching the fight and that man it looked like broke down into tears. He's probably tired of proving the critics and media wrong. B-Hop fought a beautiful fight.

Hop-man is crafty. he holds too much, he should have been disqualified for holding to prevent the other boxer do his fight. Also taken into account Pavlov looked green behind the ears this time.
But also takes energy to hold the opponents arms so he wont get counter punch. He looked too fresh after the fight. He should be checked for steroids.
