I'm just back from India and spent 2 weeks in Kerala.

We did a backwater tour, absolutely amazing. You basically rent a boat with a captain and a cook and you spend 24 hours (or less if you want to) on the water. Very scenic!

We also loved Kochi! If you go there, make sure you'll be staying in Fort Kochi, it's a very laid back place. I could even recommend you a very cheap but nice guesthouse there called "The Mother Tree" (you can find them on www.tripadvisor.com). There are really nice places to eat and have a drink too.

We also spent one week on an ayurvedic retreat, which was nice but you shouldn't spent your week on just the ayurveda thing. However, it's recommendable to have one or two ayurvedic massages, especially the one where they drop oil on your head, fantastic!

If you're into the spiritual thing, it could be nice to visit Amma, the hugging mother. She is in an ashram and hugs people.

We missed the tea plantations, we heard it's worth going there.

Here is quite a good website where you can find hotels, infor, ation, tips and trics:

    Enjoy!

    Hi

A week in Kerala is a near perfect time to cover 3 different terrains if you enjoy nature and sightseeing.

Travel to the backwaters at Alleppey, enjoy a house boat stay there for a day, enjoy the beach and ayurveda at the same place all this in about 2 days. Plan for a day at the wildlife reserve of Periyar in Thekkady. This place is absolutely amazing, one for its beauty itself two for the idea of viewing all animals that come to drink water on the river sides can be seen from the safety of a boat. Then proceed to the beautiful hillstation of Munnar and enjoy about 3 days there, wrap it all up by spending a day at Kochi and fly back from there. You can also peek into the culture of Kerala and enjoy great food, vegetarian, non vegetarian expecially sea food.

Oh, Kerala has a lot to offer!

Right from the food to the backwaters, there is loads to do and see.

Fort Kochi and Kumbalangi in Kochi (cochin) are the historical and cultural centers. You can stay at a traditional homestay in these areas.

A houseboat is full as well. You can get loads of them in Alleppey (also known as Alappuzha). Better to book at a verified houseboat.

From Kochi you can also go up to Munnar. A lovely hill station where the temperature will be much colder and there's loads of greenery around.

    Have a great trip!

Ooty, Kodaikanal, Coorg and Munnar are in all likelihood the most renowned honeymoon places interior the south. yet at the moment of the 365 days a number of those might want to be too chilly and in no way properly worth vacationing. most suitable cases are between Aug and Nov. next most suitable wager is Kerala. Its an outstanding position. places like Kumarakom and Allepey are sturdy. extraordinarily the boat residing house in Allepey the position they take you on an extremely slow boat journey by using the back waters is stunning. They do have staggering applications for honeymooners and is extremely secure. My advice might want to be to attempt both of those places. Did I bypass over something...oh sure chennai...its particularly cool now and sturdy to visit. you may attempt between the coastline motels like Fisherman's cove or GRT Temple bay......they're suitable of the shelf and particularly staggering for couple of days stay. it genuinely relies upon on your funds. So, do this style of and performance a gala time. Cheers!

In one week you can see most of the tourist places in Kerala. the important places are : Munnar (Hill staion), Thekkady (periyar wildlife sanctuary) Kumarakom (Backwaters) Alleppey (Backwaters - option for houseboat stay) and Kovalame (Beach)... It is advisable to arrive Cochin and depart from Trivandrum.
