If Obama was a Republican and McCain were a Democrat would your vote be the same?

Assume that they are running on their current platform.

Update 2:

What I am trying to get at and I apologize is would you whole heartedly vote for a candidate just because he is a part of your party. Are voters standing behind McCain because he is conservative and Republican? Conversely are Democrats voting for Obama because he is Liberal and a Democrat? Are we voting for party or for the substance behind the party?

    If Obama had Republican views and McCain liberal views, Obama would receive my vote.

    Democrats have ONLY nominated the most extreme Liberals, so McCain wouldn't even be considered.

    They thought Hillary was Conservative compared to Obama.

    If Obama had the same morals, values and views as McCain does now, I would have voted for Obama!

    (I was actually hoping Colin Powell would have been on the ballot!!) Now there is a president!

    you mean if McCain had Obama's candor, intelligence, understanding of the issues and ideals? then yes, I would vote for McCain. I'm guessing you're relating this to race. To me it's all about issues and ability to lead. Obama has those qualities and I believe he will do good for this nation, therefore I vote for him.

    I would vote for Obama if his platform were not what it is today. I don't care what color he is or isn't. I do NOT want higher taxes or more government spending! I want the government to butt out and let us live our lives.

    People need to take responsibility for their own actions instead of looking to the government to "fix it" for them.
