What NFL team won the very first Super Bowl?

3 championships right in a row; the Packers are the only team EVER to do that, and they have done it TWICE. All organization was very different then. Both the old AFL and the NFL (they weren't called "conferences", they were called "leagues") were divided into EASTERN and WESTERN conferences. The NFL had 14 teams, the AFL 9.

In the realignment, three NFL teams moved to the AFL. Interestingly, Pittsburgh, a charter team over forty years old, had NEVER been to a championship game as an "NFL" team, but did MUCH better in what became the AFC, due to the weaker competition. Those who remember will tell you that the competition and play was far superior back then, especially blocking and tackling. And they are correct. Parenthetically, the Cowboys were in the league for seven seasons at that time, but had never won a postseason game, and didn't win a championship for some time thereafter.
