What is there to do in Chicago?
I'm moving to Chicago city, don't know the exact location I just know it's in the heart of the city. Here's the thing I'm from Puerto Rico, and my whole family is from P.R. as well, I don't have a girlfriend and accepted a job that's paying 96K a year in the city but I have no idea of what to do. I mean does anybody know any places that a 24 yr old dood can go to for fun, or recomend me cool places to visit or dine at? Thanks

I'm from Chicago and live in a Puerto Rican Neighborhood just west of Logan Square. I've put together a page on things to do in Chicago and some handy links. In fact, I even refer to it often when I'm looking for a movie theatre or a phone number, maps for public transport, etc... I've listed my page in the resources. It links to everyblock, official sites for many of the attractions listed, the CTA's website, etc... as well as some tourism sites that give pretty good info on different neighborhoods.
There's loads of things to do in Chicago, although summer is definitely the best time of year to do things here as it gets pretty cold in the winter. Everyblock is a great source for Chicago - they even list out and map film locations in the city.
We have good museums, parks, ethnic neighborhoods, world-class shopping, a public transport system that is pretty good by US standards and loads of nightlife. Wrigleyville is pretty happening for nightlife and dining. Humboldt Park and Logan Square will be good for you to keep up with the Puerto Rican community. Bucktown and Wicker Park have lots of trendy, indy bars and shops. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park is another hot spot for bars and nightlife. Clark Street in Wrigleyville / Lincoln Park has lots of night life.
If you can stand the weather I'm sure you'll have a great time!

mira papi once you get here from the beautiful isla del encanto things are just going to come up. make sure you make alot of friends here too. there is a big puerto rican community here as well as mexican but don't even care about that just as long as you make sure you meet new people and become friends no matter where they are from. and you will see that soon enough you will always have things to do.
