when the body heals in the case of cuts or broken bones, is the repair stronger than the area around it?

hmmm good question! I am curious for your answers!
I recently had to have plates and screws put in my broken ankle and I keep hearing it will be easier to break it again. So to me that says its weaker. But I am not 100% on if that's true or not,
