Where does Windows store your log in information? One of those 'free' virus checkers tried to download, and I ?
stopped it, but now none of my web pages remembers I was logged in once I close the window. For instance, I have to log in to my igoogle page every time. How can I fix this so it's normal again?

I assume you're using Internet Explorer 7? If so, take a look below.
Your computer login information and website login information are two very different things.
Your website login information is fully separate from your PC login. It is generally cached according to your browser settings. It sounds like the settings may have been altered not to store your information. In Internet Explorer (IE), I would try checking here:
Click Tools in the upper right.
Click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab.
Under Auto Complete, click Settings.
Make sure all these boxes are checked.
The last box is technically optional. If it is checked IE will ask if it should remember your login info. This is a bit different than checking "remember me" on a website login. Instead of the website giving you a cookie that remembers your credentials, IE will remember the credentials on its own. In theory, either way should work.
If all else fails, you can click "Tools" and then "Internet Options" and then the "Advanced" tab. You can then click the "Reset" button to reset Internet Explorer back to default settings. This will not delete your favorites, but it will change your homepage back to MSN, which you can then change accordingly. At the same time, IE should start functioning like standard and may start remembering your login info.
I hope it helps!
Cheers!
Edit:
P.S. Deleting your temporary Internet files may also help. You do this in Internet Options (see steps above), on the general tab. Under browsing history, click "Delete". You'll then be asked what history to delete. I'd recommend at least deleting the cookies. If you're not dependent on your URL bar history or anything, then you could click "Delete All" at the bottom. This is recommended as it clears out a lot more junk.

Its in your history.
When you go to a web page that you want to go to again, put it into either your bookmarks or into favourites which ever you have on your computer, then you can just call it up again from there.
Good luck.

those 'free' virus checkers are probably spyware. Unless you were referred to a antivirus program, it's best not to trust what you see online.
Some antivirus I suggest are...
AVAST home edition (100%free and best imo)
adaware from lavasoft (100% free for personal edition)

Superantispyware.com
You can have this free softwre.
To me it very good and it does not bother me and does not slow down when you log on.
