Define what a Liberal is? Define what a Conservative is?

Conservatives hold the belief that things should be equal: flat taxes, etc.

Liberal hold the belief that things should be fair: higher taxes for higher income, the rich should help the poor, etc.

Conservatives want things to stay the same and want government to be less involved in the peoples day to day lives.

Liberals want things to change (for the better in their opinion) and want government to step in and help the people.

Republicans today are not conservative, they're liberal, just a different type of liberal than the Democrats, hence the phrase Neo-Conservative, or neo-con, which a lot of political professors use. Democrats on the other hand are liberal as well.

They're just liberal in different ways. Sad, but true. Libertarians are the new conservative party-ish.

Liberal = changing and government interference in daily lives

Conservative = stay the same and less government interference. government only exist to protect the country and enforce laws.

There are very, very few true conservatives anymore. And contrary to popular belief liberal does not equate Democrat nor does conservative equate Republican.
