How would you consider yourself righteous?

I'm a Roman Catholic and I believe you are righteous if you follow the ten commandments and fix your problems when they get out of hand. Going to church doesn't make you righteous, but it is good go so you can improve your relationship with God. It's okay to miss church for family, it doesn't make you a bad person. God is a understanding person and will not punish you.

Living a righteous life to me means acting morally in the situations we face in the everyday life. It means acting on our conscience and doing what is good for yourself and the others around you.

This concept applies to every human being - no matter what religion you practice. It is the natural law that is inscribed in every human heart.

So to answer this question: I feel that I am working my way to becoming a righteous person by making moral decisions in life.

I am not quite sure why Christians are saying they are not righteous because the Bible indicates that all that's needed to be considered righteous is to believe God. And it also says that their righteousness has to exceed that of the Pharisees, to make it to Heaven., All Christians believe they are going to Heaven. So, that tells me they think they are righteous. (maybe they are just shy or trying to humble themselves before their god)

Myself I try to treat others the best I can and help where I think I should and do so to the best of my ability. If that makes me righteous, then eh maybe. I am fed up with religion but have not studied other 'options' enough to be anyone's fan.

Born Again. I believe God sent his only Son to die on the cross for our sins. I try my best to do whats right but I'm far from righteous.

I am a seventh day adventist and I do not believe that I am righteous because we are all born into sin.

In and of myself I am wholly unrighteous but God considers me righteous only by the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ my Lord.

I'm Reformed.

I'm not righteous, everyone to their own, right on man.

I'm atheistic, big fan of Nietzsche, Rousseau, Satre and Holt. Honestly though, I just listened to their podcasts, I havent sat down and read any.I have read Richard Dawkins and Derren Brown's book though.

Mainly though I get my wisdom from stand-up's and political satirists, I think they view the world in entertaining and more accurate objective forms.

By not considering myself to be righteous. It is written that only in Christ and His sacrifice is the believer decreed to be righteous.

I am a Christian...I have nor claim any denomination. I believe in the infallability of the bible.

I do not consider myself righteous at all.

Isiah tells us that all of our righteousness is as filthy rags in the sight of God.

There is none righteous, not one.

Anyone who says they are righteous is lying or mistaken.

I'm Christian-ish, and most people would consider me to be SELF-righteous more than anything else.

But that's because I'm smarter, funnier and more attractive than them.
