Perjury is a felony if you know that what you are saying is a lie, however if you truly believe what you are saying then it is not a felony even if it is wrong

It can be, and he could be, yes.
Deportation is called for if a permanent resident commits a "crime of moral turpitude" - felony OR misdemeanor. Whether perjury meets that definition would depend on the circumstances of the case.
Heck, Bill Clinton committed felony perjury and didn't even get kicked out of office for it.

if u thought it was true, and evidence proves that it was wrong but it shows u thought it was true, you should be fine. if u knew u were lying, your screwed.
