    Seattle, Washington--woo hoo!

    **EXTREMELY LIBERAL!

    **Lots of environmentalists/tree huggers

    **Just as many outdoorsmen/gamesmen

**Lots of industry including Microsoft, Starbuck's, Boeing, Weyerhauser, & Nordstrom (all originated here).

**Art/Culture is appreciated and encouraged--from opera, museums, performance art, music, you name it, we have it (or want it)

**Mini melting pot: Extremely tolerant city, with an amalgam of ethnicities and races-very large presense of ethnicities from the Pacific Rim

    **Very gay & lesbian friendly

**Even more pet friendly--you can take your dogs ANYWHERE!

**High taxes, high cost of living...but very much worth it!

    **Terrible traffic!

**Beautiful landscape w/Elliot Bay, Mt. Rainier, and The Olympic & Cascade Mountain Ranges

**Green grass & trees year round

**Herb Friendly (if you smell what I'm smoking...)

    **Large homeless population/street kids

**Even larger drug culture-big problems w/Heroin and Meth

**It doesn't rain nearly as much as people think

I'm from New York State (New York City to be exact). The culture here is too varied to describe, as there are people from all over the world here. The culture can change drastically over the distance of a few blocks. Overall though, it is hectic, with everybody walking to the beat of their own drum. Everyone is busy all the time, and there is always somewhere to go or someone to see. The cost of living is also pretty high, and rising. I also like that there is alot of tolerance (Most of the time anyway) and variety, so pretty much everyone can get in where they fit in.

  • Technically speaking, I live in VA but I live in Northern VA (NOVA) which is not to be confused with VA proper. I've heard that we aspire to follow in the footsteps of our brethren to the West and form our own state because God forbid we - who can get to DC in 20 minutes or less (I can actually walk there in 10) - be grouped with "those backward folk" down 395 and *shudder* certainly not those who live near 80. We live inside the beltway which, obviously, makes us better. In fact, most of us just go ahead and claim to live in DC; the culture of which is wholly dependant on who happens to be in office and which political party is controlling Congress at the time. That pretty much sums us up. Of course, I'm originally from GA (scenic Gwinett County home of the run away bride and that guy who went crazy in the courthouse) so I can't really justify putting on airs of any kind.

Idk that describin the weather is culture?

    Massachusetts.

We have a huge sport culture. Like crazy. sox.patriots.celtics. Which is seriously a large part of the culture.. as silly as it sounds..

There are a lot of mixed cultures here which I think is common of any state? Maybe not idk?

We're have a high american patriotic pride culture.. Celebrate a lot of holidays the rest of the country doesnt.

Big into the bbqs. family get togethers.

I would say we are pretty accepting, and just a mesh of everything..

My town has a lot of portuguese.. lots of puerto ricans and cape verdians as well.. just a mix.. so then a lot of these cultures are in our area specifically.. but thats not the whole state.

P-town down the cape is very gay culture.

Cape in general is laid back beach culture.

    Boston. Fast paced city.

Typical Suburbia outside the big city.

Northern Mass is a lil more hick. quieter. woodsy. outdoorsy types..

A lot of unfriendly people. too busy too angry to talk to one another..

    i hope this is helpful?

I live in Tacoma now, but I don't know the culture because it is not my home. I am from Georgia, and we are very nice, gentle, and hospitable country folks. We work during the week, and go to church on Sunday, and sometimes Wednesday night choir rehearsal and Friday night bible study, lol.

    Arizona.

Sadly there is a lot of racism agains Mexicans and black people. There are a lot of Mormons and quite a few Catholics here. There's not much art or "culture", it's a bit dull. There are a lot of people that seem to think they're rich Californians here...or they're trying to be. It's really hot here right now lol.

    Indiana.

I hear that we come off as cold/mean. But I think it's because most of us are in a hurry to get the day's task done, so we don't stop and say hi to every person that we see.

I think we are also more accepting of minorities and interracial dating, while keeping a fairly conservative mindset.
