How to work and travel through Australia?
Hi folks!
My name is Christophe from Luxembourg, I'm 23. I'll finish studying really soon and before serious life will start, I absolutely want to take a trip to Australia and travel through this beautiful country...
However, my budget is quiet low... So, please, help me, I'm new at this and it takes me a lot of courage to actually do it!! what are your suggestions, recommendations, advices?

Unfortunately, Luxembourg doesn't have a Working Holiday arrangement with Australia which means that you won't be able to get a visa that allows you to work and travel. You would have no problem getting a tourist visa but you would not be able to work at all. On a tourist visa, you'll need a return ticket and be able to show that you have sufficient funds to fund your visit without working.
If you can afford to come, you should plan on backpacking and staying in hostels throughout your visit. Many thousands of young Europeans backpack around Australia every year so you won't feel at all strange. It's often possible to pick up a lift to your next stop from people you meet at each hostel if you're prepared to help with petrol expenses. Don't hitchhike though. It's very dangerous and is also illegal.
Come on down for a trip to remember for the rest of your life. We have a wonderful country and very friendly people - you'll love it.

Ok so you want to travel AND work? There are many options. You can sign up to go through your university in Lux. Unis typically have programs where you can do an internship or whatever in another country. You can go through certain organisations which also organise work/study/travel/volunteer...such as 'Projects Abroad'. I personally wouldn't recommend them as they charge a lot of money for nothing basically. You can typically organise a better trip yourself. A last option is to go on your own and to see if you can find work etc. This may be difficult especially if you don't know anyone in Aus, but backpacking is pretty popular here so you'll definitely meet other people along the way, and they may be of help when it comes to finding work to do. This is really a personal decision. Do a lot of research on it and then make your decision. The country itself is pretty safe and we have a lot of international people who study, work, backpack here. It's a good country to see and experience. Good luck!

Im Aussie - and its great here!!
Grab yourself a work visa from the Aussie Embassy and come on over!
Our dollar is nearly equal to the US dollar at the moment, so thats not good for you - just great for us :)
Our country is massive, so youll need to decide what you want to see first, and make a rough plan.
Melbourne is the best city - Im biased. Not as expensive as Sydney, but costlier (is that a word?) than Perth or Adelaide. We also have great night life, cafe culture (you wont find a better latte anywhere) and shopping.
Good luck - youll have a ball!!!

you will need to apply for a work visa if you expect to be working here - if approved then you could try fruit picking as there is usually something going in each state, you could buy a cheap car o get from place to place - DONT hitchhike NOT safe. Travelling the main highways will give you more than enough to see - if travelling the Nullabor then make certain vehicle is good and dont stray ofthe main road!

U.S. electorate do no longer desire a Visa to transit by way of Australia, provided they're in transit for below 8 hours, carry an onward reserving for trip and documentation of such bookings, and stay interior the transit front room section.

I hear this is really popular there.. But I don't know
Anyways, you have to go to a beach, a beach that has a warning sign saying that thereare sharks in the waters.. Well, go out as far as you can and wait. Wait for a shark. Whn it comes, try to run away.. If you live, you win.. If you die, you lose.
By run away I mean swim away.. Unless of course you can run in water.
