Whatever they raised, they didn't change a darn thing...
My theory is that organizations wishing to help the poor in Africa should setup the finest educational system in the world. Something that rivals Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, etc in some African Country. Education is the Number 1 solution for ending poverty. Giving somebody a handout for a day, only to have them return tomorrow looking for another does absolutely nothing towards improving the lives of those people.
