Magic & J.K. Rowling?

Each and everyone of us do magic everyday. Only we don't call it magic now, because we understand how it works. We need a new word for our manifestations in our lives. I wish.....manifestation, magic. Thinking positively, magic. Intent and focus, magic. You get the idea. The Harry Potter series makes the "unique" ones of us feel quite at home now. Thank you, J.K. Rowling.

I agree that the match-up is a factor in who would come out on top in any given "fight." However, I don't think the fights would be between the characters shown above - why in the world would Harry fight Frodo? It wouldn't make sense. I understand the concept of the question, but I think the matches should be more like who would win in a fight between Sauron and Dumbledore or Gandalf and Voldemort. I think Gandalf would defeat Voldemort - he's no Balrog. But at the same time I think the fact that the Horcruxes keep Voldemort immortal would be a big thing to have to overcome. I think the fight between Dumbledore and Sauron would probably result in a win for Sauron, though I think Dumbledore would NOT give in easily. Unfortunately I have more intimate knowledge of Potter-world magic than Middle Earth magic, so I can't give a more detailed response. But great question, it will be something I think about often.

I will say again that the only reason for people to try to decide what's good or evil for anyone but themselves is because they're not sure about their own judgement and they're seeking vindication in numbers.

J.K. Rowling has a tremendous gift and, for myself, I believe the true evil would be to stifle it. As for the "Christian" attacks (a phrase that should be an oxymoron but sadly isn't) on the books, if they had ever read them, they would know that Harry is a Christian. To each their own.

Well this shows Rowlings to be a pretty wise person. Of course that was evident from the quality of her books, so no surprise, but it's always good to have that reinforced by a new tidbit of wisdom.

I love the Harry Potter books. I hope she continues to write, regardless of what subject matter.
