Pagans, please share your inspiring conversion stories!?

Today on the radio I heard a man tell of how a hardened criminal came to his faith, and he provided that as proof of his religion, since it had a transforming effect on that man's life.

My faith, pantheism, didn't just transform my life, it saved it! And I am sure many other pagans have inspiring conversion stories as well.

If that is what passes as proof of validity...it may help some others here to read about them.

Update:

I didn't really convert either..it was more like dropping the pretense of trying to practice another faith and instead practicing what I always believed, knew and felt deep down inside.

That act really did save my life, because I had gotten to a point of not wanting to live anymore, and was in deep crisis. When I began to live what I believed, I came to understand and experience things in a deeper, more real way. I realized I had been holding all of life at arm's length before that, trying to make it fit a pattern, rather than letting it be what it was, and I finally began to know and practice true worship and authentic gratitude and awe.

so, the result was dramatic, but the "conversion" was more of a waking up and releasing myself from a cage of pretense.

To outsiders, it looked like a conversion, that took place over a period of several years as I found my feet and developed my practice as a pagan.

I just don't see it being about "conversion".

I don't consider my gradual transition from an agnostic to being an eclectic pantheist pagan to be an inspiring or life-changing event. It was a lot of small things that occurred over time, that has made my path slowly unfold into what it is. It's enhanced my life in numerous small ways, but I wouldn't say that it was as dramatic or earth-shattering as other religious "conversions" are for others.

It's an exploration. It's a work in progress. I enjoy the process of discovery, and it's the small epiphanies along the way that have made all the difference.

I'm Celtic pagan. I've struggled with a few things in my life including health issues and life-altering events.

For quite some time I struggled with self-esteem issues, anxiety and sometimes depression. I could be irritable, resentful and moody. Part of the problem is according to my previous religion (or at least some people's interpretation of it) many of the things that made me ME were "wrong".

It took some time, and I still have to struggle with the health issues, but I've found a new peace with life. Exploring my spiritual path has taught me so much about life. My family doesn't know about my conversion, but they've remarked on how much I've grown as a person over the past couple of years.

Im a Celtic Pagan, my religion envelopes my everyday life. Being a wife to a disabled veteran, it brings us peace and explains death in a way that is comforting to us. I also don't have to ask WHY people can be cruel and WHY things are the way they are..questions are answered through my belief. Paganism gives my life its preciousness, since i know how fragile we all are.

If the gods want more converts they will do what they always have- go and get them.

The words of humans about gods have no effect upon those who know their gods.

There is no reason to share with people who you do not know events which they did not experience which did not involve them.

I would, but...I never really converted. I was raised pagan. tried the Christian thing, it didn't work, and in times of trial when the Christ and his God never seemed to do anything but offer guilt and selfishness, I went back to my original beliefs, and have never regretted it again.
