Did the year 1948 bring us to a turning point in Biblical prophecy ?

Parable of the fig tree.....when it's branch it yet tender it will shoot forth leaves...........But it will not bare fruit!.......None the less this is the last generation before the arrival of our Lord......starting point is 1948...........We have the book of Daniel that will point out the weeks and the time given for this generation time table........Just remember the Bablylonian captivity that lasted for 70 yrs and then they were set free.

The word states that the Lord will arrive in that generation when Israel becomes a nation if you understand the parable of the fig tree.

You have the 40 yr generation.....the 70 yr generation as mentioned above.......and also the 120 yr generation that man was appointed to live.

Indeed! Israel became a Nation in 1948 and Jews from all around the World began to flow into this tiny Nation just as God proclaimed long many years ago! God in a Covenant promised Abraham all the land of Israel and to his Seed or Children forever! The Palestinians also claim this land and the Hamas Terrorist as well as others swear they will push the Jews into the sea so the name of Israel shall be no more! This claim was fore-told from God a long time ago,and its in the Bible for all to see and read! Iran will play a major role in the attempt to Blast Israel from the Earth with Nuclear power!Thankfully this plan will not happen because again God Proclaimed that he would protect Israel,and any Day now God could show his power to the World!

Dave and Pete gave excellent answers. The only thing I can add is this. That the bible states that know one can know the day nor the hour of Christ's return. But what most people don't realize is that the bible says that we are to know the " SEASON". That season that is mentioned is very cryptically defined I believe in Daniel. In layman's language it says that from the restoration of Israel (1948) until the destruction of Jerusalem would be 70 yrs. This destruction of Jerusalem is mentioned where Christ told an apostle that there would come a day when there would be not one stone of those buildings left atop another. The bible also mentions that this destruction would happen (an earthquake that splits Jerusalem from east to west. ) at Christ's return. These are all easy facts to document to the serious students.

If that's the case, then why have the so-called "prophets" been wrong at least three times in predicting major end-of-the- world scenarios, based on that?

The present day state of Israel has about as much in common with the Israel of old as Chicago does.

Poland also ceased to be a nation and then became one again ... and Poland is about 96% Christian ... compared to Israel ... which is only about 1% Christian ... and mostly apostate atheist.

This, plus the fact that most will agree that the ten lost tribes of Israel ended up somewhere around Poland, makes Poland a better candidate than Israel.

Those that claim that the generation that see reforming of Israel will be the last generation is erroneously based on Mat 24:32. It is not stated in this verse nor is there any other verse that contains the statement that the fig tree is symbolic of Israel, but rather it is explained into this verse.

Below is the meaning of "this generation will not pass away until all these things take place," in Mat 24:34.

Meaning of this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

For a long time I have wondered how the phrase, "this generation will not pass away until all these things take place", found in Mat 24:32 fits into the picture of the end times. I have heard the unsaved scoff at the Bible, claiming that the Bible is not true because the generation that Jesus was speaking to did not see all of the things he was describing take place. However, I heard from the Lord through a fellow believer, that Jesus was telling them that the generation that recognizes that the events that Jesus described in Mat 24 are taking place would be the generation that sees all of these things take place and would be the generation that sees the coming of Jesus. Thank you Jesus. For example, we can now see that the earthquakes are occurring more frequently and greater in intensity like birth pangs. We are that generation that will see the second coming of Jesus. With this in mind we can also see that all of the things Jesus spoke about would occur within one generation that is they would occur right at the end very rapidly.

The World Council of Churches and commercial television were both born in 1948. Coincidence?

That entire thing about Israel, well the Rapture, which was made up around 1830 said that 40 years after Israel was returned to her people, the Rapture would happen and then the seven years of Hell on Earth and then Jesus's return for 1000 years.

Well, it does look like some deities overslept, eh? They must be watching commercial tv and making fun of how no one at the World Council of Churches can agree with each other.

Some say it did.

Jesus in Luke says that the signs of false Christs and the other signs would start after the time of the gentiles had come to a end with Israel returning to the Land.

Yes and the amazing thing is even though Israel had no army, they had just moved there, when they were attacked on three sides, they defended themselves and gained West Bank and Gaza Strip as a result. Clearly God help them defeat these three countries. The Bible is the only accurate historical evidence and it's prophecies are 100% to date.
