germany ran out of fuel. they did not control their gasoline supply, which is one of the reasons they invaded stalingrad, to get control of oil. they failed in stalingrad, and therefore ran out of oil

Te Russians invaded Berlin and smashed them to pieces and then the allies were arresting people for war crimes and crimes against humanity that were connected with the Nazi party and Hitler. So Hitler killed himself. xx

To tham153 above me, I would point out that Canaris was executed as a traitor a couple weeks before Hitler's own suicide, so Hitler could not have left him in charge - and Hitler would not have left Canaris in charge anyway since he was a traitor!

He left Dönitz in charge, not Canaris. I'm sure you know this but thought I'd point it out regardless :)
