Have you ever tried being a tourist in your own hometown?

For example going site seeing or staying away in a local hotel?

Also do such activities constitute being a tourist despite the location?

Oh my goodness being a tourist in my hometown of Peterhead Aberdeenshire ...you have to be joking it is the dumping ground for everything including too much fall out from the power station and gas terminals...low nuclear waste disposal. Yobs who spit and gob. Teenagers who drive around in top of the range BMW's waiting to get killed by speeding and driving too fast. Seagulls who puke and mess everywhere.

No I think I'll leave my tourism to the beautiful highlands of Scotland.

Though the natives are friendly which is a lot to be said for these days.

1.Not interested in roaming the streets of my city on a site

    seeing tour.

2.Such activities would constitute a lack of viewing Places

that you've never been to. Why waste money in a local

hotel,'' unless you plan on trashing the joint with a major

party''! Otherwise go explore. Remember your time on

this Planet is very short,so use it wisely.

    Godspeed,

I have not tried to be a tourist in my home town.but there is a lot going in the summer. There is Alton Towers. You can get free money off tickets to some of the attractions,if you go on the Staffordshire tourist website.

We have a city museum, which has one of the last remaining spitfires from WW2.

There is a monkey world at Trentham Gardens. There are working pottery museums. There are nice walks in the Staffordshire peak district and cycle paths. You can usually get them free from the tourist board shop, which is in the City Centre (Hanley).

Quelle(n): Staffordshire tourist board and I go to the above quite often(except Alton Towers)

Yes and actually there is a program in the off season where i live called "tourist in your town" its a pass for $35.00 and it gets you into a bunch of the local tourist attractions and discounts at dining venues in the off season to promote business. It was a lot of fun!

Yes I have done both, it was something we did as young kids with parents, and now years later I enjoy revisiting.

In some cases you can be called a tourist as you visit parts of your city that as a rule they are parts you will not visit as part of your daily routine.
