How come one day you can have "Top Contributor" and they next day it's gone?

You need to maintain 10% Best Answers in at least 1 category in a month. No one knows the exact formula, but it is evaluated on Sunday night/Monday morning. You can get the TC Badge back at any time. You can have more than 1 category.

I don't know, but when I first started out and thought it meant I'd get lots more prizes and presents, I deleted a level 7 account over loss of the Friends Top Contributor badge. :D

It's based on percentages that can fluctuate daily. You literally have to be the only one answering ALL the questions almost all day long every day to keep it.

it's all a scam anyways. I am very wary of people that started using ya in march and are already at level 4 and above.

they must spend the better part of the day. or have a couple of accounts and constantly give themselves the best answer. I think they should do away with the whole point scheme and eliminate the TC badge. if you want to ask a quick question ask and someone will answer.. this TC along with copied LONG ANSWERs over and over and over is a YA legal form of cheating.. Just my opinion and we all know about opinions now, dont we?

I don't know. I hated the badge when I first got it, because I thought it meant I was spending too much time here & didn't have a life. But I have to admit that if they take it away I'll cry.

Someone must have gained more points than you in that section and took your place as top contributor.

You will always be a Top Contributor in my book =)

It's an active badge, so you have to keep working at it or is goes away

no idea - they have given me that label -and taken it away 3 times now.
