Do you think Cinco De Mayo warrants status as an official holiday in America?

Is someone trying to make it an American national holiday?

MY OPINION: As diverse as Americans are these days, I think the work/holiday calendar should include the standard secular holidays of New Year's, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.

We should also be granted three or four paid floating holidays, to be taken at our discretion. That way, Jewish people could have off for their holidays, Christians have off on theirs, Latinos take off Cinco de Mayo IF they wanted to do so and everyone would be happier!

well im mexican.....and i agree that it shouldn.t be an official holiday due to it not being american history.......but people are always going to use it as a drinking and partying day and i don.t think there is any great reason to stop celebrating it because of the fact that its not a milestone in american history......but i don.t think it will ever be an official holiday, like being paid time and a half to work on the day and having anything, like school or business, close down for the day....

No electrical energy Day, an afternoon the place electrical energy is banned. perhaps if those is achieved in working days it would be a difficulty, yet while it particularly is a holiday, i don't think of there's a reason to not.

well i believe 5 de mayo is the same thing as st.patricks day we Americans use this 2 holidays for a good reason to drink
