Need help with Windows Easy Transfer!?
My problem is this- I have two computers, both running Windows XP Service Pack 2. I have a Belkin Windows transfer cable and I have installed the software on both computers. I am trying to transfer across key files from one machine to the other but am having no joy. Is it possible to use this cable to transfer files between two XP machines (I was told by a colleague it should work), and if so, what do I need to do to make it work?

If the Belkin cable you're talking about is this one here (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/123630), then this cable is designed for transfering files from an XP machine to a Vista one, not from one XP to another. To do this you can use the 'Files and Settings Transfer Wizard' that should come with both XP computers, or you can download it from MS, not 'Windows Easy Transfer'. Google 'Files and Settings Transfer Wizard' for more advice, although the program itself it fairly straight forward.
I'm not entirely sure whether 'Windows Easy Transfer' is just for XP>Vista transfers, though. If you have a wireless network, try using that option in the wizard to transfer the files between to XP machines. Can't hurt.
