I know Independence and Liberty have Pit bull bans, not sure about Kansas City though

*sigh* I love people who don't know what the hell they're talking about. (not directed to the person who asked the question, directed to ppl who ASSUME all pitts are bad evil dogs that should be destroyed)

Pitts are NEVER illegal, some areas have banned them bc of retarded a$$ people who WANT them to be mean dogs, Pitt Bulls are NOT mean dogs by nature. (Given, no matter what breed some dogs are just bad in general).

Pitt Bulls were known as the "nanny dog" before dumb a$$es found out their jaws locked and started fighting them.

As for them being banned in Kansas City, MO, unfortunately, they are and so is ANY dog who resembles a Pitt Bull Terrier. (American Staffordshire Terrier , boxer ect)

Technically the American Staffordshire Terrier is the same thing as an American Pitt Bull Terrier.

I did find a lot of aticles related to people fighting the ban, so its possible (but not likely) that it was lifted, try asking a local Police Officer or a business owner.

I wish you luck and hopefully someday people will open their minds and not judge dogs bc of the breed having a bad name bc of retarded owners.

call aminal control for your part of city. alot of cities here locally have made it illegal to have them ( kansas city kansas, overland park) and a few others. so call or they enjoy putting good dogs down when its the owner that should be.

A few years ago there was a petition to ban pit bulls in Kansas City after several people were mauled, but I don't think it ever became law.

there is lots of pitbulls round the uk there illegal but there is millions of them

really its a breed of dog any dog could do just as much harm as each other some just look more scary

They are illegal in Canada its really sad because not all pitbulls are mean and the LSB took them away from families and killed them very sad I have two of my own and they are so sweet.

Call you local animal control and ask. Then if you live in a condo or community with covenants, you should check those as well.

Call your county/town animal control and inquire about breed restrictions, if there are any.
