    NO!!!

Please tell your partner to take his dog to the VET to get the mange treated. In other words the vet can and will "HELP".

    There are NO home remedies!!!

first you need to know what kind of mange it is. i would take dog to vet. so it can be treated properly. Demodex mange is not contagious. it is caused by the demodex mite that lives in the hair follicle. all dogs have this mite but dogs that start loosing their hair have a very low immune system and their immune system cannot fight the bites from the mites. it is treatable but you need the proper medication.

there is also Sarcoptic mange also caused by different mites and is harder to treat.

there are no home remedies that will cure either of these and the dog is miserable now. it will only get worse.

Googled it and you really should take him to a vet, pronto as you could get this!

Mange is an unsightly and painful condition caused by burrowing mange mites. Mange is contagious and is spread by contact from infested to non-infested animals. Mange can occur in man, dogs, cats, horses, sheep, cattle and other animals.

Irritation from the scratching often leads to secondary infection causing an unpleasant odor. If untreated, the animal may die of exhaustion, dehydration, or secondary infection.

    Good luck

cav mom is 100% correct. There is no home remedy, and if you prolong the trip to the vet by trying to treat it yourself, you will only cause damage to the dog and end up costing more because the vet will have to treat the mange (if thats even what it is) and whatever damage you have caused trying to fix it yourself.

Baby oil, baby powder, and if you can find any Yardley's Brand soap you can grind it into a cup of warm water. Though the best thing to do is to go to the vet.
