Anyone else out there think the Shannon abduction was?
a rather transparent attempt to get the public to start a fund in the style of the Madeline MCcan one? Surely a genuine child abductor would not keep the child safe and well for 3 weeks!
Naturally I am glad the child was found alive and well. There is just something not feeling right about the fact she was found with an albeit 'extended' family member.

No.I don´t.
One thing is having a cynical point of view , another is a twisted point of view.

Their is no evidence that Shannon was abducted and as yet no charges against the man have been made.Should (and doubt it) other family members be a part of her dissapearnce then a lesser charge may be brought. The most Important factor is that the child is safe and well, and little has been made of that on here.

Not at all. I believe this man was quite unstable and lonely and his mind mixed up with sadness and grief due to his daughters being taken away from him. I believe he felt he was protecting Shannon in his mind from her problems at home and she probably satisfied a need for him which was taken away when he lost his daughters, a need to care for and have the company of a child. Shannon would have easily be led into a feeling of safety knowing that he was her stepfathers uncle so wouldn't have the feeling she was held against her will (at first especially) and he probably looked after her well. His mental instability clouded his ability to realise that keeping a child away from her parents and not contacting them was wrong. Perhaps when the media got on the case and didn't let it go he was too frightened to let her go.
I feel sorry for the man.

I have to be honest it had crossed my mind because the mother was so laid back about what could have been a tragic outcome even her phone call to police was cool and calm, but I think now she is such a "moron" in the true sense of the word she showed no real emotion. She was seen posing for photographs even standing with a soft toy and then cuddling her partner whilst watching TV Ugh!
I pity those poor children and hope this woman is steralised and her children removed from her custody I am waiting now for some gutter newspaper to pay her for her story.
My absolute joy that Shannon was found safe and well, I wonder now whether she went to this man because she couldn't go home to a dysfuntional family. What has this little girls life been like, my heart bleeds for her and her siblings.Anyone can produce a baby it takes someone very special to nurture them this woman is an unfit mother.

What an unbelievable question.
She obviously wasn't abducted, she could have walked out of there any time she liked,if she didn't want to be there the neighbours would have heard her screams or shouts, she went to another relative the day she went missing asking to stay and was refused.
I think this man helped her and didn't want to say no,when it all blew up the next day he didn't know what to do,when she was found all the people on the street said she didn't seem upset or frightened.
He has been stupid, but it probably all got out of hand.

No, I don't.
I think if it was an attempt to start a fund, they would have used one of the younger children, not a 9 year old, and the fund would have been set up solely to help the family as the McCanns did.
The Shannon fund was registered as a charity to benefit the community, not the family.

I am so so happy little Shannon has been found safe and well. It's wonderful news, however i do feel there's much more to this than meets the eye. Maybe it wasn't quite the dreadful ' ordeal' for her we think it was...afterall she didn't want to go home did she?? In all honesty can you blame her? And just maybe the reports are right and she was compliant in going into the flat with Donovan. Whatever happened i hope whoever is involved in this is brought before the courts and they rot in jail. And may Shannon be cared for by people who truly know what parenting is all about. I mean, did anyone else find the statement by the mother very odd when she said she thought someone they know had taken Shannon just to hurt her??!
